Anemone is a visual and auditory treat, intermittently sprinkled with heartfelt moments brought to life by the incredible performance of the great Daniel Day-Lewis and the spectacular supported cast. Between these powerful scenes lies a great deal of patient, deliberate filmmaking and quiet sombreness which most of the criticism lies.
Anemone is an artful film with stunning cinematography and a terrible score. Daniel Day-Lewis displays more talent in a blink than most actors show in their entire careers. Unfortunately, the story was worst than the soundtrack and not even Day-Lewis could save it.
I gave this a 10 out of 10 for many reasons. Obviously, Daniel Day-Lewis’ performance was sublime and the supporting cast was excellent. Visually, Ronan Day-Lewis’ camera work and cinematography was spellbinding. I can honestly say I enjoyed every moment of this film.
I thought for sure DDL was going to kill Sean Bean. So, don't mix curry and Guinness, got it. Other than the great performances of the two leads and DDL's "Curry & Guinness" speech there's really nothing to see here. Nepotism is a real thing.
This is just a godawful boring mess, some kind of story about broken people and their families. It’s probably supposed to have some kind of deep meaning but I can’t bother to figure it out.
