Károly Makk is someone I don't know anything about. I do remember seeing his film Love (1971) but it didn't make any lasting impression on me so his films have never been a priority for me at all. But I thought I should take a look at one or two more and settled on this one as it was nominated at Cannes and the synopsis sounded interesting. Annd it is good, yes. It has a lot of charm and it is also a very calm and elegant film. The comedy is very low key and subtle and for the first half I didn't connect with it. But then something clicked and it became an enjoyable watch. A very delicate film and a very good one. So I look forward to choosing my next Makk film.
