As a movie The Magic Faraway tree managed to capture the whimsy and nonsense that existed in the original source material whilst updating it to a modern setting where kids are more likely to own an iPad than walk in the woods alone. The setting and visuals are stand out here, with attention paid to the fantasical nature of the world without losing itself in CGI. The acting can be a bit overdone in parts but for the whole this is a movie your kids will love, and you will enjoy.

Loved it. Had so much emotional gut punch and good vibe feelings that it reminded me of The Secret Garden and even Bridge to Terabithia (that ones more of a traumatic emotional body slam). I kind of wish it had a bit more of a Disney life lesson feel for the kids but it’s a lovely feel good family film.

A lovely movie it's felt like a dose of happiness and warmth. I enjoyed it
