Movie Theater Massacre wants to be a scrappy, self-aware slasher with personality, but it never finds the rhythm or craft to pull it off. The premise has potential — a killer stalking a dysfunctional crew inside a failing theater — yet the film never builds tension, atmosphere, or even a coherent tone. Scenes drag, jokes fall flat, and the kills lack both creativity and impact. The acting ranges from stiff to outright confused, as if half the cast is in a comedy and the other half thinks they’re in a grim horror film. The editing doesn’t help: abrupt cuts, awkward pauses, and pacing that feels like it’s padding for time rather than building momentum. Even the setting, which should be a playground for cinematic meta-horror, is barely used beyond a few generic hallways and dark corners. There’s a scrappy charm buried somewhere in the concept, but the execution is simply too rough, too unfocused, and too technically uneven to recommend.
