This was a great anime. Both story and art style was unique, and without any cliches it beautifully portrays the bond between a father and a daughter. The only negative point was that it lays more emphasis on the happy parts rather than the dark past of Somali. I would definitely loved to watch another season or two of this series.
"One of the things I really enjoyed was the representation of human beings from different perspectives. You start the anime with Somali, and because you see things from her perspective, you view humans as cute and kind characters. However, as the story progresses, you begin to see how horrible they were to every other character they met—the kind of fear that made them a natural enemy to almost every species you see throughout the series. This shift in perspective drives home the idea that we humans are not all the same, and this is laid out right in front of you. You see Somali, the kind of human who accepts everyone; you see the majority of other humans who lack reason and just kill everyone; and you see a child come to understand that not everything is what it seems, shifting from bad to good.
Huge peotic potential. A bit too childish for me, but still had a nice time with this one.
