Although some of story line seems a little far-fetched, and Bancroft's behaviour somewhat one-dimensional, I enjoyed the series - another good British crime drama, as only they know how to produce.
According to ITV, IMDb etc. there is **no** episode 4 in the second (last) season.
I wanted this series to be so much better than it was but it ended up being just OK for me. First the good: The acting was solid. Sarah Parish, Faye Marsay and Amara Karan gave good performances. The casting was good. For me the shortcomings were all about the writing: Bancroft character was drawn with limited moral range and ends up being unlikeable because there is no room for internal conflict. Is she just a psychopath or is there some personal remorse that transcends getting caught? The writer also chose to have no seasonal plot arch - there are no small resolves which diminishes the tension between Bancroft and Stevens (self serving license versus justice). As it lies, if they renew the series, it will still be working out an unresolved season one. I rate this series a 6 (fair) out of 10 and hope for a better written season two which I will watch because of the potential of the cast. [Crime Drama]
British drama at it's best!!!10/10
