"Tales of the Empire" delivers a solid dive into the Star Wars world, exploring some lesser-known characters. Morgan Elsbeth's journey, though a tad familiar, adds depth to her character. Barriss Offee's arc, on the other hand, really shines with its redemption story. Visually, it's a treat, introducing new aliens and expanding the lore. Sure, there are some minor hiccups like abrupt endings and unnecessary character changes, but they don't ruin the fun. Overall, I'd rate it a cool 8/10. It's got good storytelling, interesting character growth, and adds nicely to the Star Wars universe. Definitely leaves you wanting more tales from that galaxy far, far away.

Not as good as Tales of the Jedi, but not terrible. It just felt inconsequential.

Personally I found the Barriss episodes to be a lot more interesting than the Morgan episodes. Also, anyone else find it odd that Vader
didn't kill Barriss the instant he saw her? I highly doubt that he would even allow her to be an Inquisitor in the first place. Despite that, I always did say it would've been cool if she was the 2nd sister
.

Tales of the Empire is not just another Star Wars series. In just six episodes, it builds a dark and emotionally dense atmosphere, far from the lighthearted adventure we sometimes expect from the franchise. There are no heroic Jedi or epic battles here; instead, we find trauma, loss, and characters trying to understand their place in a world that has changed too quickly. Visually, it’s stunning. The animation continues the high standard set by previous Lucasfilm Animation productions, often pausing on details that convey more than the dialogue itself. Everything moves at a slow pace, but it’s a necessary one, giving space to absorb the emotional weight. Some viewers might find it slow, but there’s depth in the wait. The two main characters are well chosen, although one may not carry as much symbolic weight in fan memory. Still, their stories complement each other and explore themes rarely tackled in this format. The intimate, psychological focus makes each episode feel like a small capsule of pain, redemption, and, at times, defiance. What works best is the series’ will to explore the cracks within the Empire—not just its machinery, but what it does to the people it touches. Not everyone is a villain or a hero. The series plays with that ambiguity, which is refreshing in a saga that long operated in stark binaries. In short, Tales of the Empire is a mature, visually striking, and narratively worthwhile addition. It’s not for everyone, but for those seeking something deeper than nostalgia or fan service, it delivers. There are harsh moments, others that verge on poetic, and ultimately it adds something meaningful to the Star Wars universe.

The Morgan half was watchable, Thrawn is still the man, and the green bitch was so cringe i couldn't finish. Consider it a 45 minute short and forget about the last 3 episodes. Also, calling it "tales of the empire" is pretty weird when the actual empire parts lasted about 3 minutes altogether. Maybe one day mouse wars will go near bankruptcy and people will get the empire show they deserve. Also, what the hell is up with that "they/them" BS, i watch science fiction to escape from the insanity of the real world, not to get more of it spoonfed. Fantasy is, or at least was, the last escape from this madness and now they insist on shoving it on your face here too. But it's disney so i shouldn't be so surprised i guess.
