Note 1 (8/1/2025 - 2:27am CST) - Love seeing 31% rating with the show being out for 48 minutes and having a 100% Episode 1 rating (though I have it at 90% at this time). It amazes me to no end how people/bots/whatever are such fucking shit heels...

Something needs to be done about the morons who give low ratings before a show is even released. Since its release, this show has been getting positive reviews and high ratings, yet here it has 31% (up from 10% before it was released). Personally, it's 8/10 for me after watching 2 episodes.

I get the sense that this miniseries got shafted during production. Cool animation aesthetic, fun concept, fine music, action had adequate viscerality, and the MCU connections were solid, but there are hints that they ran out of time or budget. If each episode had been twice as long or the series were closer to 6-8 episodes, there would be something nice but as it is it feels super one-note. The history of Wakanda is a GREAT IDEA to explore, especially in episode 2 when they dabble with the burden of espionage and deception, but it doesn't save the show. I'd love it if this show got enough attention that they renewed for a future season that improved the writing (which could make up for most of the shortcomings). It's really not good as is, but it has so much potential if competent writers were given the time to flesh it out like Loki or Andor.

Yet another miss. I thought the MCU was over this slump? Completely forgettable characters & storylines. Just didn’t contribute anything to the lore of anything. Random character being Iron Fist is almost cool & that’s about it. Between this & Ironheart, 2025 has been another bad year for MCU TV overall.
