On another forum on this show, I've read that there were numerous bad reviews of this show. This may explain the low rating here as well as for Ep 1. I urge everyone to keep an open mind, and try to enjoy this show. You may like this just as I have.

Dylan Wang shines as Xu Qi An, bringing charisma and depth to his character as if the role is tailor made for him. Some scenes where they were laughing felt so natural and real, almost as if they weren’t acting at all ; he is not Xu Qi An but Dylan himself. The production quality is top-notch, with stunning visuals and well-choreographed action scenes that enhance the viewing experience. The comedic elements are perfectly timed, providing a light-hearted contrast to the more serious moments, making it a well-rounded show.Every day, I eagerly look forward to each new episode of this drama. What I love most is how the series balances fun and excitement with meaningful themes of friendship, loyalty, and justice. Each episode leaves you wanting more, and the cliffhangers are expertly crafted to keep you hooked. Although this isn't with its drawback ; initially Lin'an character so annoying to most viewers ; u can see in the forums everyone bashing the character (not the actress) and would rather Huaiqing be the lead but half-way through you would under why Lin'an suits him more ; too peas in a pod one not the brightest but emotionally they are well connected. [spoiler] Although in the original novel Qian has more than 7 wives including both princess Lin'an & Huaiqing [/spoiler] I also found Xinnian (cousin) annoyingly hilarious especially his romance arc with Wang Simu ... Overall, "Guardians of the Dafeng" is a must-watch! It’s a delightful escape into a world of adventure and camaraderie, and I can’t recommend it enough. Whether you’re a fan of crime dramas or just looking for something entertaining. I wish there will be season 2 but i am not hopeful ; will probably get around to read the novel sometime.
