Jack Lemmon est un acteur et réalisateur américain, né le 8 février 1925 à Newton (Massachusetts) et mort le 27 juin 2001 à Los Angeles (Californie).
Avec Marcello Mastroianni et Dean Stockwell, il est un des trois seuls acteurs ayant obtenu à deux reprises le prix d'interprétation masculine du Festival de Cannes (en 1979 et 1982).
Jack Lemmon est le fils unique de Mildred Burgess LaRue (née Noel) et John Uhler Lemmon, Jr., président d'une société de donuts. Sa grand-mère paternelle était issue d'une famille d'immigrants irlandais.
