Danny Glover est un acteur, réalisateur, militant et producteur de cinéma américain, né le 22 juillet 1946 à San Francisco. Il s'intéresse au théâtre pendant ses études universitaires au San Francisco college et fait son apprentissage au "Black actors' workshop" de l'"American conservatory theater".
En 1979, Glover fait ses débuts au cinéma aux côtés de Clint Eastwood dans "L'évadé d'Alcatraz" de Don Siegel. En 1985, il enchaîne trois rôles marquants dans "Witness" de Peter Weir, "Silverado" de Lawrence Kasdan et "La couleur pourpre" de Steven Spielberg, qui le révèle au grand public.
Le triomphe public arrive en 1987 avec "L'arme fatale" de Richard Donner, où il forme un duo mémorable avec Mel Gibson. La saga, composée de quatre films, lui apporte une grande popularité. Cependant, Glover cherche à diversifier ses rôles, jouant notamment dans "Predator 2", "La rage au coeur" et "Grand canyon".
