Synopsis
La veille de son déménagement, synonyme d'un nouveau départ pour lui et son épouse, Tom fait une rencontre qui le trouble : lors d'un dîner, il croise Jennie, dont il a été autrefois éperdument amoureux. A sa grande surprise, la femme dit s'appeler Alice, et déroule devant l'assemblée une vie qui n'a rien à voir avec la réalité. Est-elle un sosie ? Une mythomane ? Bien décidé à percer le secret, Tom découvre bientôt qu'Alice dissimule bien davantage qu'une double identité...

It has an interesting premise, leave everything and just reinvent yourself. Would you do it? Would you want to do it? What would it cost who you are? Would you know who you are? Interesting questions. Great performances. But nothing special in the story arch. It poses the questions but doesn’t really do anything with the possibilities. And, the central relationship doesn’t inform the narrative. Everyone just seems to be observers. The story has no forward motion. Beyond seeing Rachel Weisz, Michael Shannon, Kathy Bates and Danny Glover hone their craft, I’m not sure anything else works. I give this film a 5 (meh) out of 10.[Mystery? Drama]
