Au Japon, dans un futur proche, le vieillissement de la population s’accélère. Le gouvernement estime qu'à partir d’un certain âge, les seniors deviennent une charge inutile pour la société et met en place le programme « Plan 75 », qui propose un accompagnement logistique et financier pour mettre fin à leurs jours. Une candidate au plan 75, Michi, un recruteur du gouvernement, Hiromu, et une jeune aide-soignante philippine, Maria, se retrouvent confrontés à un pacte mortifère.

Heartbreaking... because it's so close...
Usually I more or less agree with the overall vote for movies here: even if different from the one I give, I can see its general value for an audience with different sensibilities. But for this one I think it's vastly underestimated. 62% at the time of this review makes no sense to me, that's a barely average movie. My personal vote aside, I'd consider this a **76%** let's say. This is a beautiful and soft movie, dealing with old age with delicacy through visual means and emotions rather than words - making it all the more effective. It's worth a watch and it's thought provoking in the best way
sad but hopeful? beautiful cinematography for sure
