I really don't recommend watching this, specially if you haven't seen Da Ali G Show, and even if you did there's only a few moments (handful) that are decent, while the rest is just forgettable garbage!

Sacha Baron Cohen before Borat, being a big idiot at large. Ali G is an absurd character: the most ridiculous white wannabe gangsta in the UK who ends up in politics by mistake. The premise is stupid, the humor is childish, and yet it has moments that make you laugh even if you don't want to. [SPOILER] Seeing Ali G in the British Parliament saying outrageous things while Michael Gambon and Charles Dance keep their composure is pure gold. [/SPOILER] It's not Borat. It's not great. But if you watch it with the right expectations (none) and wanting to disconnect, it does the job. Good dumb humor.
