I just went to review this and realized I’d actually seen this before. I honestly couldn’t remember seeing this at all. I didn’t remember anything about it but my rating was high. I don’t understand myself sometimes. This is a powerful underdog story that is based on a real person. It actually felt pretty accurate with the details. The story is obviously really good and the script isn’t bad. I just think this could’ve been excellent in the hands of a proven director. The acting isn’t bad but it’s not great. I mainly watch movies like this to feel inspired and this did the trick. It has some issues but the heart is definitely in the right place and it succeeds at what it wants to do.
