It's not bad but it's not great either. The narrative is confusing and even though our main characters clearly have history, we're just kind of dropped in the middle without seeing any of that history. You've also got 4 great actors and all of them feel underutilized. And 'loosely inspired by true events' might be more accurate regarding it's relation to the real life Texas killing fields. It certainly depicts the depravity of humanity with murder, sexual assault, kidnapping, and fist fights. But for all of its violence, the only changes in the characters by the end seemed to be plot related. There certainly doesn't always need to be a larger point or character development but, if that's the case, the narrative has to be better than this. If you like dark, violent crime dramas, this will certainly scratch that itch but otherwise I think it's forgettable.

The movie's not going to steal your breath away, but it's decent and well acted. I did struggle a bit following the story as I wasn't able to pay as close of attention as I wanted to, but it's something I'd watch again to fill in the blanks... Eventually.
