Synopsis

Nathalie Emmanuel just doesn't have the attitude, the screen presence to pull off the lead in an action movie about an assassin. So the movie doesn't work from the get go. And what is the trademark of John Woo (slow motion gun fights) today just looks laughably cheesy. Also, the musical score is horrendous.

The Killer (2024) - ❤x7 It's a pretty standard assassination movie but surprisingly it was a lot of fun! How I rate: 1-3 ❤ = seriously! don't waste your time 4-6 ❤ = you may or may not enjoy this 7-8 ❤ = I expect you will like this too 9-10 ❤ = movies and TV shows I really love!

Either The John Woo of old is gone, or I have matured as a moviegoer. Either way, a needless and soulless reboot to arguably his best movie.
