An intriguing, atmospheric, surreal tale of gothic horror where newlyweds trying to survive living at a haunted family estate. I love when TCM airs obscure titles like this instead of popular ones. I feel obligated to check it out. Tension and gore are quite limited in this film, it's a PG film after all, but there's a definite sense of dread that makes the film quite effective. It's absolutely oozed with atmosphere and surrealism that sure to keep you at attention and the slow decent into madness is quite amazing to behold. All cast is ridiculously attractive as well. David Selby delivers a combo of mysteriously attractive and unhinged behavior, perfect casting and fantastic acting by him. I feel like the unexpected turn this film takes towards the end is what makes it really entertaining.
