Well, after revisiting the movie again, I revise my review upwards. While it is still not the best movie out there, it has its value as a spoof and sketch movie. The movie revolves around a spoof movie of 1950s space movie, though most of the movie are essentially different sketches. They spoof 1980s late night TV or are just standalone sketches that want to be Monty-Pytonesque. Unfortunately, US filmmakers do not really get the Python humour. It is though still Ok entertainment even if the Americans do not dare to take the last step towards complete absurdity and surrealism. As said, Ok for cine-buffs and with decent humour that fits the time it as made in.
The best thing about this movie is the recurring segment within the film starring Steve Forrest who as Capt. Nelson leads the first expedition to the moon. It is an absolutely dead-on spoof of '50s B-grade sci-fi space movies. Joey Travolta as crew member "Butch" is perfectly hokey. Overall this film is a bunch of short comedic skits and it is pretty creative how the stories are strung together. It's not a laugh a minute side-splitting movie but it does have its moments.
Hilarious-type comedy with references to science fiction.
