Horrible Irish accent by Brad Pitt.🗑
"Don't look for a happy ending. It's not an American story. It's an Irish one." I stepped completely blind into Alan J. Pakula's the Devil's Own and didn't anticipate on Brad Pitt playing an IRA assassin and having a Irish accent. And him staying at a family man/police officer's house played by Harrison Ford was a setting I really enjoyed. Anyway, the plot wasn't all that interesting but the action was decent and everyone was great. Harrison Ford and Brad Pitt had chemistry and their scenes together were fun to watch. And seeing Karen, I mean Natascha McElhone, show up on my screen was a gift! I always like her! The Devil's Own is worth a watch for sure just so you can enjoy the scenes between Pitt and Ford and enjoy Pitt's Irish action and I think the ending was really solid.
An all-American cop takes in an IRA.
Solid thriller that lives of the great performances of its main cast.
If this was made in 2023 I'd say it was written by AI due to the sheer amount of clichés and stereotypes depicted.
