A pretty mediocre film with a very simple plot. Are there twists? Sure. Do it actually make the movie any better? Not really. I will say, the film keeps a fairly even, dark '90s tone. Okay, there is some forced humor here and there, but nothing too bad. Although this fits more in the territory of thriller/mystery, it does have hints of psychological horror. What's more bizarre is that there is a comedy version of this, which released later the same year, _Dead Man on Campus_ (1998). I can't recommend this. Aside from Lillard bringing his signature A game to the table, there's just nothing here.
This has all the elements that horror is known for, twists and turns galore. Stupid cops and a plot twist that keeps switching. I enjoyed seeing Lillard continue his path of psychotic and weird characters, it's what he does best.
