Who made this pointless stupid movie and why????
The marketing of this film which is about sex is very disingenuous. I think it's because the movie is a carbon copy of all home invasion horror films, and they knew that wasn't enough to sell the movie. It's very middling
*"I saw this on TikTok..."* Straight out says it's about "sex and violence" but it only really excels at one of the two—and that's only in the third act. The premise resembles *Speak No Evil* in a lot of ways but don't expect it to be as daring and gratuitous, it's way more tame than that. They lean into comedy and camp more than anything especially in the third act. The performances are all good and the interactions are entertaining. I didn't always buy into the drama though because the script is often baffling, like it's so ridiculous no real person would buy it. The characters buy this charade though and I scratched my head a few times at the decision making. Nothing surprised me either, it's all so predictable from the get-go. I quite enjoyed the third act though, some really fun kills and a solid ending.
Meh, 'nuff said, adding words to complete minimum requirements
This definitely took me by surprise. I’m not saying that I loved it or anything but it did shock me a bit. I fully expected something supernatural but it’s not that. I was hesitant on seeing this but I’m kind of glad I did. It’s an extreme slow burn for most of the movie and I had some difficulty staying engaged. I thought as things progressed it became more intriguing though. The final act was a lot of fun but did drag a tad bit at moments. I appreciated all the different twists and turns. I actually liked the direction they went in. The performances were all pretty good. I thought the movie looked great and was shot really well. I just really wish they did a bit more throughout to keep my interest level up. For a horror movie it wasn’t scary or very gory. Ultimately this was decent enough but I don’t think it did quite enough to move the needle for me. * Double Feature at AMC Crestwood 18
