Never heard of this before, but since the writer/director now made a sequel 40 years later (as his second ever movie apparently??) I just had to check it out. Some of the setup scenes go on for _waaaaaaaaay_ too long, but as far as 80s slashers goes this is a pretty standard "one of those" horrors. Not great, not terrible. I am guessing this became known because of its unusually extra violent kills (for the time). _And what's with the sitcom music?? 😆_
Classic 80’s slasher: You’re not there for the acting or story, but for the kills, it delivers. Even though I knew what to expect, I still did not anticipate how gruesome some of the kills were.
Killer is lame and the kills aren't anything special. Watch once to say you've seen every 80's slasher film.
Good music and cinematography, but incredibly mundane plot, even for a slasher. A few young adults messing about and being cheeky isn't exactly interesting, no matter how 80s it is. Pretty gory in parts.
Great movie. Even better theme song? Even though it's called Fall Break and named after the original title? I don't mean that ironically, because why does a horror film have a beach blanket love story theme song, but because I think it is so damn catchy. It's in my head at least ever other day, no joke. Love it! Also the movie rules.
