Raoul Walsh.

He used to be a big shot.
Top 10 iconic last lines.
Great film with great director, actors and script.
first watch on big screen projector awesome at times sad ending great acting and score but definitely has pacing issues James Cagney wasn't awesome but Humphrey Bogarts performance was perfection as usual
"There's ten thousand shell holes around here and everybody's gotta' come divin' into this one." The Roaring Twenties is a great early Hollywood Gangster movie by Raoul Walsh. It stars James Cagney alongside Humphrey Bogart. Two of my favorite early Hollywood stars. This is a fast paced movie. We go from World War I to the Prohibition, to the Great Depression, it all comes along as we follow James Cagney's Eddie Bartlett. He hasn't has much luck in his life but he tries to get to the top quickly. He succeeds and fails. We also have Gladys George as Panama Smith. She might even be my favorite part of this one! Aside from Cagney knocking down two lads with one punch! The Roaring Twenties will never bore you and has two great stars in Cagney and Bogart who both play to their strengths. We have shootouts, punches being thrown and singing. In the end you simply can't go wrong with this one!
