Men & Chicken is a prime example of how you do a black comedy. The less you know about it going in the better.

'Men & Chicken' is... out there. Good film, though! The only criticism I have is the run time, I reckon they could've shaved a decent chunk off so the somewhat predictable conclusion comes around quicker. That aside, I enjoyed this 2015 release. It has a strong cast, good humour (mainly across the first half or so) and has a plot that is certainly intriguing - and even manages a positive message in the end, just about. Mads Mikkelsen is good value here, as he is in pretty much all of his films let's be honest. I watched this as part of my watch through his filmography, so it was cool to see a number of familiar faces that he worked with previously; as well as director Anders Thomas Jensen, of course. Nikolaj Lie Kaas the most obvious, to me anyway, example of that, though you also have the likes of David Dencik and Nicolas Bro.

Having watched all four films by Anders Thomas Jensen, I'll go against the grain and say that this one is the weakest. There were way too many parts where pretty much nothing interesting happened - comedy or drama-wise. First half was especially bad, it was VERY boring. If you want a really great Danish black comedy/drama, watch Adam's Apples.
