This movie presents some unusual moral ambiguity and it is for that reason and that reason alone that I give it half a star. From the narrative, the audience is meant to feel that Gene and Jody - as the parents of said enfant terrible, are intended to be the protagonists of this film, and we should be rooting for them to save their mutant baby whereas we are supposed to grimace at the actions of Mister Mallory, who seeks to terminate these pregnancies. And to that I say, "Fuck them kids!" Mallory is in the RIGHT! Gene and Jody are wrong. Look, I'm not insensitive. Obviously every parent is going to be very protective of their child not matter how much it may look like a CHUD. But these are not normal babies we're talking about here. These are killer mutant newborns. And if my understanding of biology is correct - killer mutant newborns tend to grow into killer mutant adults. So yes, I'm on Team Mallory on this one. Kill those fuckers! That being said... this movie was... disappointing. The killer babies are barely in it, and even when they are, you only catch glimpses of their mangled little mutant baby faces. Not enough carnage candy to justify even a standard buck ninety running time.
