*"The Forger" (2014) is a painfully predictable crime drama that fails to leave a lasting impression. Starring John Travolta as an art forger forced into one last job, the film follows a by-the-numbers formula without adding anything fresh to the genre. The emotional father-son subplot feels forced, and the pacing is sluggish. While the cast does its best, the script lacks depth, making the movie feel like a forgettable TV drama rather than a compelling thriller. Overall, it's watchable but utterly unremarkable. 5/10.*
I remembered liking this and yeah it holds up fairly well. It's a charming little study. Some excellent performances plus there's a sick heist at the end. It's literally everything I could have wanted. Plus there's a hilarious scene with an underage kid and a hooker which sounds worse when I phrase it that way.
