Script and screenplay work that stinks worse than the haul of a fishing boat, Finestkind feels like an alternate reality Fast franchise entry, where the cast are rough Boston fishermen instead of tuner-car-cultured Corona-drinking meatheads. Mia Familia de Pescadores. And if the production crew of Finestkind were to take a lesson from the humble McDonalds Filet O' Fish, they'd learn that cheese and fish just don't mix. Add in some weak performances and a plot as loose as a slack fisherman's net and you're left with a film that is very difficult to like. The movie goes to great lengths to use and explain the meaning behind the titular phrase, and how it can be used in a multitude of situations to mean different things. I think that's a perfect encapsulation of Finestkind; it's undefined, loose and lacks any real meaning. Truly a let down, because the subject matter, location and rough-fisherman aesthetic is all somewhat unique and intriguing, it's just not utilised as a compelling stage in any way.

95% of the movie are boring or even embarrassing. But some few moments of bonding within the family save it from complete irrelevance.

A Lifetime movie for men.

Erm... it feels a bit corny to say but this film isn't the finest of its kind. The story is a little flat and mostly quite dull.

Thos movie could have been much better. The acting was mediocre. They seemed like they made the story up as they filmed. Predictable lines from the acting, week plot. Missing information that would have made the move much better between certain scenes. Tommy Lee Jones played the perfect part, I can't say the same for everyone else.
