France, 1944. Un squad américain localise une section allemande qui préfère se rendre plutôt que mourir dans l'offensive finale de la guerre.

The story essentially depicts the fraternisation between US and German troops during the end of WW2. While that certainly happened here or there, I do not find the way it is told and depicted in this movie very well done. It feels just too much like different scenes cut together rather than a rounded story. Still, it is a decent movie that shows another side of war. For fans.
Absurd relationships in wartime in this film.
A provocative and introspective World War II drama, _A Midnight Clear_ explores the complexities of war. While on a recon mission in the Ardennes forest in the winter of 1944 an American intelligence unit comes upon a German platoon that wants to surrender. Starring Ethan Hawke, Gary Sinise, Peter Berg, and Kevin Dillon, the film has a strong cast. The performances however, aren’t that good; but then neither is the writing. Still, the plot addresses some interesting issues of morality, along with the challenges faced by soldiers. Additionally, the sets and costumes create an authentic World War II look and feel. _A Midnight Clear_ has some problems, but even so there’s something compelling about the characters and their story.
