Superb film and just as good as pumping iron. Mickey Rourke is brilliant as the narrator
how come i cant watch this . i just paid
Not a comment on the film itself.... But what struck me was the difference in society between Pumping Iron in the 70s and These guys 40 years later. In the 70s, two things stand out - everyone helps each other - and everyone is quick to laugh and be happy. In the 10s, everyone has much more materially, the bodybuilding had become a highly curated science experiment and the rewards have exploded - yet they are antagonistic to each other and, for the most part, they're all deeply discontented. The only happy people seem to be the non-Westerners...
Fascinating behind-the-scenes look at the incredible price that is required to compete at the highest level of bodybuilding. Very much an eye-opening documentary, especially for those who (as is mentioned in the film) think _"It's all about lifting weights..."_ There's an art to what these professionals do, the sacrifices they make, and this documentary explains it all - along with a lot more - in beautiful detail. Very good film.
