great actors + great director + great screenplay = great film noir movie

aka A Perfect Storm of Stupidity and Unbelievably Bad Luck

An absolutely brilliant noir thriller. A fantastic production with a great atmosphere, a great cast, and a great story. I’m not surprised, given the director. However, I didn’t realize until later that Fritz Lang directed it; I’ll definitely be watching more of his films.

Nice picture. You wonder the whole time how's he going to get caught. The pace takes a knock during the blackmailer segments. I would have preferred a more cynical ending (should have ended right after the phone call).
