From the bowls of the Playboy mansion comes the low-budget horror anthology The Telling. At a sorority house three pledges are challenged with telling a scary story as the final test to see who will be allowed to join and who will be cut. Produced by and starring Playboy model/Hugh Hefner girlfriend Bridget Marquardt, the film’s a bit of a vanity project, and co-stars her fellow Playboy alumn Holly Madison and Sarah Jean Underwood. None of the acting is very good, and the directors do a poor job at setting the tone and accentuating the horror elements. Straight-to-video schlock, The Telling is amateurish and doesn’t deliver any real scares.
