Synopsis
Jody est un chômeur noir d'une vingtaine d'années qui vit encore chez sa mère Juanita. Il a deux petits garçons de deux femmes différentes, Yvette et Peanut. Sweetpea, son meilleur ami, accumule les embrouilles et passe la moitié de sa vie en prison.Juanita a décidé de refaire sa vie à 36 ans avec Melvin, un ancien gangster. Elle pousse Jody à voler de ses propres ailes. L'arrivée de Melvin va encore compliquer les choses.Entre violence et amour, entre rires et larmes, Jody va devoir faire face à son entourage. Mais plus que tout, c'est sa propre peur de grandir qu'il va devoir combattre.

This one reminded me a bit of the Boys N the Hood. You have to like this genre of movies, because not much happens in it. You mainly follow someone's life and everything surrounding it. I enjoyed this movie very well.

John Singleton had already impressed me with Boyz n the Hood and Poetic Justice, and this is in the same league as those. I know Tyrese Gibson from his screaming and one liners in the Fast and Furious and Transformers films, but his acting is really good in Baby Boy.
