Encounter of the Spooky Kind is a horror comedy…Sammo Hung Kung-Fu style. Not being all that familiar with Chinese ghost legends, there are stuff in this film that flies right over my head, but I can't say I care all that much. I had fun, and that is all that matters. I can understand that some might not like Sammo Hungs style of comedy, but no one can fault his martial arts. To me, though, Encounter of the Spooky kind is the perfect blend of martial arts, comedy, and horror, and I had a blast watching it.

All the monster scenes are so fun and Sammo Hung is excellent. Shares some locations with Knockabout which was fun for me. Just be aware that they do cut off a chickens head and it's center frame.
