Well that was if anything a bit of a crazy ride of a movie. The torture was brutal at points. When the twist came at the end I was prepared to laugh, as the movie at this point was a bit ridiculous, but then it actually worked. All the nastiness beforehand had a motive and that raised the movie from weird shocker into something with a bit more substance. Maybe it wasn't a totally original twist but least it's there. Very risky end and for me it worked. Is it a movie to re-watch and pick up on hints? I don't know but I get the feeling they went for that type of cryptic style with the flashbacks. For example, looking back he torture technique made sense with another part of the plot... The flashbacks do need your full attention and I wasn't prepared for that. I even thought the cheap effects at he end looked creepy.
