This was released on my first birthday, so I grew up watching it on network TV and looked forward to seeing it every year. If Christmas is happiness, tradition, and joy, then, for me personally, this is the most Christmas movie of all time.

The special that launched 100 more. Probably not the best animated. The story is creeky and a little weird, actually. But it makes up with pure, unadulterated charm. Burl Ives shines as the balladeer and Bille Mae Richards is pitch perfect in the role of Rudolph. My favorite, though, remains Hermey (voiced by Paul Soles) who was sorely missed in future Rudolph outings like the Shiny New Year. Great stuff and not to be missed.

60 year later and this still holds up of a stop motion film ahead of its time. Yeah the characters being unlikable towards the MC throws people off and the whole forgotten toys thing upsets some. Burt Ives music to this day remains a nostalgic music that I remember from this.
