I couldn’t even pass 40 minutes into this movie with the over dramatic breathing and excessive noise these characters made specially the actress when nothing is even happening. So, freaking annoying. 😤 Hard pass for me.
Second movie from director Luke Sparkle this month after *Primitive War*. The opening scenes made me think of *A Quiet Place* but past that think *The Descent* with the goofy-looking creatures from *Starship Troopers*. The tone is as serious as *The Descent* but with a production like that maybe you should've went with the tone of *Starship Troopers*. The acting is half passable, half awful and there's overlong melodramatic scenes that never end (*Scurry* the hell up and move to the next scene!). Characters also won't shut up breathing hard, screaming, coughing, crying, whining, you name it and it never makes sense why the creatures hear them sometimes and at other times they don't. The CGI for the creatures is mostly bad and pray the lord to be forgiven for doing CGI fire and falling dirt. It's mostly shot in the dark so not always easy to see but it's better than the white neon lighting alternative. The green night vision is a nice nod to *The Descent*. The design for the monsters is actually interesting but it doesn't fit in a movie as serious as this. Sooo long in that second half especially. Final shot was more interesting than everything else.
