I don’t get the haters. Not every movie has to be a Shamalan masterpiece. Yes it’s predictable throughout & not the kind of humour one expects from Stiller, but it’s also heartwarming & funny. A nice light family Christmas movie, which I for one can appreciate.
Over the years I have come to appreciate Ben Stillers acting talents but this was among his worst honestly. Just a bad script imo. I do however look forward to his next project whatever that may be.
Nutcrackers (2024) - ❤x6 This starts out as a pale imitation of a Ben Stiller comedy ... and then it remained that way - until the final 10 minutes. That's when the movie redeemed itself. But the first 90 minutes were really hard to watch and not to just turn it off. How I rate: 1-3 ❤ = seriously! don't waste your time 4-6 ❤ = you may or may not enjoy this 7-8 ❤ = I expect you will like this too 9-10 ❤ = movies and TV shows I really love!
I usually like Ben Stiller's comedies. But this one was hard to watch and not to turn it off, for some reason. I couldn't resist to rewind it quite a bit. Very predictable. Not much fun. And even when they tried to make it touchy it didn't work that much, those kids don't make you sympathetic, not sure why. Maybe because right from the beginning they are depicted as very impolite, spoiled and rude little brats.
The trailer made it look funny - and a little silly. It ended up being silly and predictable, but not funny, although the wife laughed a couple of times at the beginning. 5/10
