I really like Jim Carrey in dramas. He's a great actor.

Given the weird, hard to believe basic story of the movie, it works surprisingly well. This is due to the fact that the movie does not try to focus on making you believe the story, but rather on the message the story conveys. The excellent acting performance of Jim Carrey, whose part is more dramatic than comedic, is what makes the movie work. Excellent entertainment with a bit of a message to think about.

I liked it a lot. The story, the directing, the production design. And Jim Carrey is a very good dramatic actor.

I enjoyed the drama/feel good story here. The cast does well with their roles and it’s a rather easy watch. It is a bit on the lengthy side and does teeter on the edge of plausibility at times but still enjoyable.

This movie, and The Truman Show, is proof that Jim Carrey does not need to play a weird, psychopathic, annoying character like Dr. Robotnik, The Riddler or Count Olaf. This movie had a good, intriguing plot. I was really happy with how it turned out. It was much better than all his other movies. The Truman Show was actually still a lot better.
