This may be the best crime investigation drama I've ever seen. The cat and mouse game between the criminal and investigator was very intense and entertaining, the cinematography was beautiful with many awe-inspiring shots, and I appreciated how deeply we delved into the mindset of the killer. The plot also moved at a nice pace and nothing ever felt out of place or a waste of time. Edit: This is a review of season 1.
this many episodes in is supposed to give you enough to judge first of all let me say this: if you liked NBC's hannibal, watch this. It's all that, minus the cannibalism For the rest of you: watch this. its a psychological detective story about ted kaczynksi, who i admit didnt know before and im so damn interested now that i want to read his book, and the guy who caught him. the story is set in 2 timelines, before finding him/the search, and after finding him/before trial. im a sucker for cop-dude-trying-to-find-serial-killer-becomes-too-obsessed-you-cant-tell-whether-hes-inspired-or-theyre-just-fucking stories. conclusion: watch it. I'll update this with my opinion on the ending when it ends. also, hot damn paul bettany. I've liked him since he became Vision and hes just so damn good at acting
Amazing, exciting and great characters. definitely a must watch!
While I thought that the first season was OK, I was really looking forward to the second season because of it's focus on Richard Jewell. Having previously researched the case for some articles I was writing I really wanted a series to dig as deeply into the story as it deserves. This series does not do that. It's flaws are immediately obvious--wooden acting, dramatic license, terrible writing and poor editing--but the story initially has a gravitas that keeps pulling you back in. That quickly dies after first couple of episodes. The plot becomes so outrageous that your left wondering whose idea it was to have
the FBI and a bunch of militias working together!!!
. Ultimately, it's always more fiction then fact.
Started off slow and flat but definitely picked up. “Ted” was mind blowing.
