Dark and well, dealing with the taboo. Not a bad series, but left with an ending that wants you to know more about what happened to everyone. I liked this but felt like there were some things that could have been answered or more light shed on. Like what happened in Africa etc. Maybe that was intended for a second season but with how long this has been out I doubt it'll ever happen. A good show to put on for a few nights but nothing more than that. Good acting, good setting but sadly a little forgettable.

If you miss peaky blinders this helps. It’s been in my watchlist for a couple of years never thought I’d end up watching it but with the lack of anything else I decided to give it a go. Glad I did. Gripped from episode one. Tom hardy was amazing and Stephen Graham well… brilliant as always. It’s just 8 episodes so if you are umming give it a go. A new season due out next year 2024 apparently so fingers crosssed.

Well it took me over a year and a half to get thru this series. It dragged on and I fell asleep many times. Too many episodes which could’ve been. Shortened. Don’t waste your time with this.

Excellent. S1 of 'Taboo' is a treat. A few of the episodes can drag out a tad, but by and large it all makes for a very fine viewing. Tom Hardy is excellent as the superbly named James Keziah Delaney. He is by far the best thing about this show, but that's not to say he's the only pulling the strings. Jessie Buckley (Lorna), Oona Chaplin (Zilpha), Stephen Graham (Atticus), Tom Hollander (George) and Jonathan Pryce (Stuart) all give their own terrific performances. Steven Knight does a grand job with the writing, as do the whole team behind this in truth. Three years+ on, still waiting for the second series; which has been commissioned, with Tom Hardy stating within the last twelve months that it will return. Here's hoping!

(237-word review) One of the most significant crimes regarding film and television is how under the radar this show was when it came out; that's changed for the better since then, although it's still too underrated, IMO. Everything from the energetic score by Max Richter to the story/plot to the acting was all well-done: and the characters were all great; James Delaney's number one, of course. There is some slowness, whether it's an episode as a whole or some parts. And while that could be a heavy offense for some people, I didn't mind that much; the entertainment came easy for me, staying throughout the season, even through the occasional slowness. Tom Hardy's the draw, generally and acting-wise, but everyone and everything else carries their weight to an almost-equal/equal level. Fantastic first season. I NEED the second season NOW. I need it in my veins, I need it in my body, I need it in my brain, and I need it in my bones. It can't come soon enough. Unfortunately, its arrival will probably keep getting extended; the current time frame is the end of 2023, and that's for the beginning of filming, not even the airing of it. But I bet it'll change to the end of 2024, then the end of 2025, and before you know it, we'll all be old, and the second season of Taboo will still not be here. Come on, man.
