This show is like a slutty awful version of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Compared to this the movie is an Oscar winner. i never had a tv show that made me feel so sick, it was cliche after cliche, super bad acting, bad effects, bad casting, bad characters, bad script, bad costumes. I was really looking forward for this show since i kinda enjoyed the movie and i liked the story of the books but this is just down awful.
I don't get why this show gets so much hatred. I watched all the episodes and I found them amazing. I don't give a damn about the book. If it were identical to the book as a minority of bookworms want, there would be no reason to watch it. People should stop comparing, and start appreciating it as a spin-off.
first 10 min already nothing like the books. What is so hard about following the books for once..
the show/acting gets better and better every episode! I love this show and I also love the books. I even prefer some of the changes on the show over the book storylines. Don't give up just because the first couple episodes have "bad acting"- trust me it's worth watching :)
I watch a lot of series, usually multiple episodes each day. I haven't read any of the Mortal Instruments books, but I watched the movie and it was alright. This and the show getting the best drama series GLAAD award were the things that got me to give it a try. The first few episodes weren't a total blast, but then it quickly became one of my favorite shows of all time. I look forward to each new episode and then never get disappointed. There are some emotional moments that make me tear up, the characters are all quite unique and pretty much spotless in their looks, plus a dark world of vampires, werewolves, elves and magi can get my attention. I'm not a fan of the basic "guy gets the girl" kind of stories but despite the expected plot line where the girl bats her eyes and the guy acts all cool, it is yet to put me off in this case. Maybe it's that there are multiple more plot lines in the show, or that the characters are likable. The show doesn't shy away from sexualizing them, but yet again, rather than feeling forced and over-the-top, it serves more as a reflection of our world.
