Torchwood es una serie de televisión de ciencia ficción británica. El Instituto Torchwood es una agencia externa del gobierno británico creada en 1879 por la Reina Victoria y que se encarga de buscar cualquier fenómeno sobrenatural que ocurra en el Reino Unido, estudiarlo y neutralizar cualquier posible amenaza que pueda surgir del mismo. Como en la ciudad de Cardiff hay una grieta dimensional que se extiende cada día más, una de las bases de Torchwood se encuentra allí. Dicha base, denominada Torchwood Tres, está situada bajo la Plaza Roald Dahl, en la bahía de Cardiff, donde también se encuentra el Millenium Center, un edificio peculiar fácilmente reconocible en las tomas aéreas de la ciudad que aparecen con profusión en la serie. Torchwood Tres consta de cinco miembros, liderados por el enigmático Capitán Jack Harkness. La palabra "Torchwood" es un anagrama de "Doctor Who".

This show is very unbalanced. Some episodes are utter shit, while other are very polished and well filmed. This is true both for the UK version and the new Starz + BBC version. Only exception is season 3 which was pretty intense from the beginning to the finale.
They are taking 2012 off of production but with the promise that Jack will be Back.
Hard show to rate. Seasons 1 and 2 are a mixed bag - both have quite a few really good episodes, but also a lot of crap that made me wish I had been watching almost anything else. Season 3 is fantastic, especially the final few episodes - it's like it's a totally different show from the first 2 seasons. Season 4 feels like a different show again, but not in a very good way. I liked how season 4 had a narrative stretched over the whole season rather being so episodic like seasons 1 and 2 were, but the plot feels as though it's stretched on for more episodes than it needed to be, plus it feels very Americanised compared to the seasons that came before. My average rating for the 4 seasons works out as 6.75/10, but I'm inclined to round down to 6, simply because I felt as though season 3 was more of an anomaly than anything.
Good show that made up from 3 season. WE DO NOT TALK ABOUT THIS. THERE WAS NO SEASON 4 OF THE TORCHWOOD. But seriously yanks, stay away from brit shows.
Episodes range from dumb to superb, but they're always interesting. Peaks in Season 3.
