It's a pretty good insight into the manga industry from the mangaka POV. Excellent story pacing, switching from serious to comic and back again. It also does a good job of fleshing out all the characters and follows the original work closely. Some of the work ethics shown was old fashioned and worrisome
like dude, if you're hospitalized, work on getting better. Health is wealth. Nothing is worth jeopardizing that
. It's also pretty sexist throughout, so it got really uncomfortable for me at times. Still, I found it inspiring and comforting to watch the two main characters work towards their goal and reach it, so overall, it was an enjoyable show.
Still reading the manga so not gonna start this yet but holy shit the manga is amazing. If your not into manga or you are you should definitely watch this, again I haven’t watched it but the creator of death note and an fantastic manga.
I can't explain why but it's so weird how an anime with nothing of the following still ends up to be a 10/10 for me: - No noteworthy OP or ED - No noteworthy OST - No noteworthy art style - No grand scheme story or characters - No villains (rivals =/= villain) - No fanservice for horny teens - The main protagonist aren't "special" On paper this anime is mediocrity at it's best. Somehow it manages to tell a story that feels grounded yet overly dramatic at times... But when it gets dramatic it's not in a way to force you to feel bad, it's inspirational. For me the showrunners are the supporting cast, the best friends and rivals carry this story and I'm convinced this was intended.
