I don't know the history, maybe these are student films or one of those challenges where they give you 48 hours to make a short film. If that's the case, I could grade on a curve and say there's some potential in a few of these segments. But as an actual finished product I stumbled on through a streaming app, I can't in good conscience give it a passing grade. The stories range from trite to stupid. The acting is almost entirely abysmal, except for in Honey Hole, where I bought the comradery of friends and the menace of the hicks. The gore - well, not much of that to speak of, it's mostly off camera via shaky cam or a camera pointing at the floor while people scream. There's some joy here in the act of creating something with your friends with no budget and limited time; there's a DIY attitude I want to award it more points for. But if you asked me for some good horror to check out? I think the worst V/H/S segment is several tiers above the best segment here.
