Such a disappointment. Bad acting, cheap cinematography, chaotic (in a bad way) storytelling. I love Nesbitt, but can't stand him here. Everybody is overacting at their worst. The private detective gal is awful. Police DI dude couldn't act if his life depended on it. 75 y.o. Annette Badland as a computer expert, really??? Needless to say, a bunch of nobodies in supporting roles doesn't make it any better. I managed to force myself through 2 episodes; half of the time, I had a feeling that I was watching some bad reality TV. Don't waste your time. Worst of Coben's adaptations to date.

Starts off a loud shiny mess for the first couple of episodes and then gets better with a pretty good ending… worth a watch.

A very good series, perhaps one of Harlan Coben's best yet. 👍 It has a bit of everything. Murder, runaways, intrigue, suspense, drama and some great twists and turns. It leaves the viewer desperate for answers and you get them with some real suprising home truths. I enjoyed this series and I highly recommend it. 👍

I'm a huge Harlan Coben fan and read all his books. Unfortunately the tv shows are either hit and miss, and this one was a miss for us. For some reason, most of Coben's tv show adaptations make all kinds of changes compared to the book. Either important plots were altered and characters changed or introduced. And where the books usually neatly wrap up all the different plots in the story, most of his tv show adaptations have become known for leaving quite some plot holes. In this case the issue for us was mostly the unbelievability of several plots and choices the characters made, plus a lot of characters were downright unlikable. * The dad can't have a normal conversation with anyone with losing his temper. * Like my favorite TV character House always says, everybody lies. Well, that's certainly true here. Everyone in the show lies about everything to everyone. Even loved ones and family members. Coben should follow other successful writers on tv show adaptations, like Michael Connelly with Bosch and Lincoln Lawyer. Those books are great as well, but the tv shows are highly rated for most part as well. The books Coben writes are liked for a reason, because they were good. Stop making so much changes which only degrades the story and introduces all sorts of plot holes and unbelievability.
* The mom gets shot in her shoulder, but spends almost the entire show in the hospital in a medically induced coma. That would be weird if the head or vital organs weren't hit? * The dad gets shot lower than her (therefore you would assume more dangerous), but he recovers the same day without any problems? * After finding out his daughter was raped, the dad goes into the police station expecting them to arrest the boy. No proof, nothing. * When the PI goes with Dee Dee, she is asked to put her phone in the glove box because they don't want to be tracked. Is the glove box a Faraday cage? * The PI was nice. But instead of having a regular conversation with the dead husband's daughter, she decides to stalk her and break into her house, because.... why? * All of the sudden the police raid the cult, without any prelude as to what evidence led them there. * The parents are obviously loaded as he has no problems coughing up 60.000 pounds for a fairly useless clue about his daughters whereabouts. But then the son has the sell his sisters guitar because he doesn't have any money? * The other daughter is in a wheelchair... most of the time. She does walk on screen for 2 quick moments. Maybe some other nitpickers like me at least would like some explanation.
Good series. It did the book and the characters justice and I gotta say I liked Armitage not being in it. He was in a few too many already and there are a lot of great English actors.
