Pretty terrible in almost every way. I don't believe any of the characters or any of the storylines. God help us if spies are this stupid. Guy Ritchie wannabe dialogue from over-acting wooden cast members was the last straw. I lasted 2.5 episodes before I wanted to call a hit out on myself.
Love it... have no idea why there's negative comments here.
Great show. It's 98/73 on Rotten Tomatoes and 7.1 on IMDB. The people voting it down are chuds who are upset over it having a female protagonist and gay characters. I've got the last episode queued up to watch tonight, and I'm looking forward to it. It steals a little from John Wick in its portrayal of secret criminal societies and spy networks. It requires the same kind of suspension of disbelief, but it's well done and the television equivalent of a page turner. It begs for some Wick-like action sequences, but what's here is good.
What's the point of making this a spy thriller with characters like Sarah Lancashire, just to infect it with unrealistic and useless protagonists? I don't expect realism, but I do expect sense. This flies high with contradiction. It tries to go against the 'stereotype' but ends up looking silly. 'The Day of the Jackal' on Sky knew how to put romance at the centre of a character, this puts 'romance' at the centre of the story. You can almost taste the factory plastic taste it leaves behind. The little details and dialogue go a long way, but as soon as it hits any ounce of action, it turns into something completely different.
Fantastic show all around. Score, soundtrack, sets, acting, characters, plot etc. Absolutely completely unrealistic and over the top which actually works better than if they had tried to make it serious. Super fast paced and entertaining from brining to end. Kicks The Agency’s ass all over the old smoke…
