This one was bittersweet. Like a cup of bitter coffee on a cold winter's morning. The winter theme was apparent in the “vibe” and cinematography which was impressive. The flashback scenes were well executed, and the story moved at a pace I enjoyed. The actors are very pretty, but feelings between them felt soft rather than passionate. This might just be a personal preference. I do obviously take issue with lying to your partner about a very significant part of your life (roommates vs lovers), and I don’t really know what Fumiya was expecting to happen. That motivation means he’s not particularly likeable, and yet Kosuke Suzuki still performs excellently. Ritsu was a bit underdeveloped, but somehow still very endearing. This was a pleasant enough watch for only six episodes, I’d recommend it in one sitting - maybe on a winter’s day with a cup of coffee.
