Después de una injusta sentencia de 16 años de prisión, Dolores Roach regresa a un aburguesado Washington Heights, donde se reencuentra con un viejo amigo drogadicto, Luis, quien la deja vivir y trabajar como masajista en el sótano de su tienda de empanadas. This show's about much, much more than empeoplenadas. Too bad it got cancelled.
Sweeney Todd redux, tip toeing the line with a thinly veiled, racial / sex "twist", that, could be considered offensive given the current climate. Justina Machado skirts that line with aplomb, given what she has to work with, however, the supporting cast is also quite watchable, again, given the story they are working with. Does make you wonder though, how those who did, / are doing hard time for what is now in many states a tax revenue generating commodity, feel about their own situation.
Shame this one got cancelled, I would have watched another season.
