I like documentaries that are factual. If the use of graphics, animation or a bit of re-enactment helps to better explain things that's OK. But I mostly like original footage in terms of WWII. This is on another level altogether. It turns WWII into a computer game that you just happen to watch. It is sensationalism and overdramatizing, with loud rock music playing in the background. Big letter graphics flashing over the screen and lots of cuts and angle changes. All of this swimming in a pool of patriotism. Michael Bay must be loving this. I am by no means downplaying what those men did during the war nor do I want to be misinterpreted as having no respect. I have, a lot. The eyewitness accounts of those brave men is what makes this interesting at all. I just don't like the style of the presentation. But this attention grapping style is sadly what I have come to known as the History Channel's style.
